Finance platform for landlords

Finance-platform-for-landlords

We have supported landlords and property investors for many years. We know that managing finances and keeping track of income and expenditure can be difficult.

As mentioned in our last blog - Making Tax Digital for landlords it is going to be important to find some software to use which will make it easier to manage the process.

We have partnered with a company called Hammock to help our clients with the transition. They provide a property finance platform for UK landlords. Over the next few months, we will share information about this platform. In this blog, we wanted to share some of the key functions of this platform.

By using Hammock, you can save time and more importantly save money in the long run. The platform provides bespoke banking, bookkeeping and property tax statements. Having all this information in one place makes it much easier to manage your finances.

Using Hammock to manage your properties and finance

  1. Once you set up the platform you can register all your rental properties onto your account so you can view information relating to each one individually as well as have an overview of your portfolio.
  2. You can then link your tenants’ details to each property to help you keep track of rental payments.
  3. You can connect your bank account feed to the platform this allows you to align all income and expenditures to each property and tenant.
  4. The bookkeeping feature ensures that reconciliation of regular income and expenditures takes place automatically. This saves you time as well as highlighting any gaps in payments for example if rent hasn’t been paid by any of your tenants.
  5. The property tax statements are very useful and help you to understand your tax bill easily. All transactions are matched with the SA105 categories.
  6. There is a dashboard that allows you to view key metrics so that you can track how well your buy-to-let property is performing.

We are delighted to be working with Hammock and look forward to offering packages to our clients that have rental properties.
