During the pandemic, there were lots of grants available to businesses to support them through that difficult time. A lot of grants were funded by the EU’s European Regional Development Fund but nearly all ERDF schemes have now come to an end.
We have listed a few grant schemes that are currently available to businesses in the East Midlands. You can also contact your local authority directly to find out if there have any other grants, particularly for start-up businesses, innovation or to encourage sustainability.
The Invest to Grow programme provides grants and loans of between £15,000 and £250,000 to support private-sector businesses across the East Midlands to innovate, grow and create jobs. Most awards are a mixture of grants and loans. Your project does need to meet some specific criteria to be eligible, i.e.

Grants of £6,000 to £20,000 are available for new and existing businesses and communities with proposals, for alternative energy, clean fuel, and carbon reduction. There is a minimum project spend of £15,000 and a maximum intervention rate of 40% available for solar panel installation, air and ground source heating, energy-efficient boilers, LED lighting, electric vehicle charge points, and more.
