A recent announcement about the support to businesses still available through grants was made. They are encouraging companies to apply for the grant funding available to help them recover post-pandemic.
The plan is to help the local economy recover and hopefully create jobs as businesses start to grow.
The latest figures show that £22 billion of government support grants were issued to companies that applied through local councils since the pandemic's beginning. There is still £850 million of grant funding available to businesses that need it to support recovery.
Businesses in the hospitality, leisure and accommodation sector are being urged to apply for the one-off cash grants made available through the Omicron Hospitality and Leisure Grant Scheme. A business can apply for up to 6000 pounds through this grant funding if it is required.
The one-off grants of up to £6,000 for eligible businesses in the hospitality and leisure sectors depend on rateable value:
All applications for the funding must be made directly to you your local council. The government has asked the local councils to make the funding available as quickly as possible once an application has been approved.
On the Gov.UK website, a breakdown of the Omicron Hospitality and Leisure Grant (OHLG) grants was shared. This showed that in the East Midlands, the allocation was £46,413,423; of this, only 15% has been spent so far.
